Project Description

The concept was unique for ‘Corporate Village’, provide a high-end, and independent feel to each unit, while combining units that allowed the building to flexible as lockout units. The flexibility supported options for corporate owners to occupy the whole unit or an individual unit. At the core of the four-plex is a shared space for activities or conferences. Complete with a rooftop experience for sunbathing, an outdoor bar, 360-degree views, and star gazing.

This site was challenged by bridging and buffering the existing and original phase of Entrada with the new resort. Buildings needed to be scaled to the height of adjacent existing single-family homes, while appealing to the high-end type of residences and desert architecture.

Additional Information

Black Desert Resort is a reimagined expansion to the established community of Entrada in Southern Utah. Black Desert’s goal is to be more inclusive than it’s predecessor. The overall project is planned into areas we call ‘Villages’ that are oriented toward potential user groups and recreation or activities. At the heart of the resort is a 300 room Hotel with a full spa and restaurants. The hotel is the main point of entry and check-in for the resort, including experiences such as golf and the water park. The North end of the resort hosts the ‘Golf Village’ where ‘Stay & Play’ housing units are located. The East hosts the ‘Boardwalk Village’ where retail, restaurants and a more urban living experience occurs. The South end hosts the ‘Family Village’ where there are activities for children of all ages such as the waterpark and arcade, along with associated ‘Stay & Play’ housing.
