‘Golf Village’ set out to provide an experience the golfer can enjoy and remember beyond the course. The challenge was to design a unique place to stay, while integrating into the desert as much as possible – with a physical and visual connection. This multiplex is the utmost flexible layout and can accommodate an array of golfer stay combinations, with a variety of unit types; Studio Units, 1 Bedroom Units, 2 Bedroom Units, and the flexibility of lockout units that can be 3 or 4 bedroom units. This allows for nightly rentals for a foursome or lease the entire floor or building for a family or corporate event. The building incorporates underground parking for easy access, security, and out of the heat. The ground floor is partially below grade and directly connected to the outdoors- providing a one of a kind connection to the resort trails and course. The upper levels have large overhanging balconies that provide both shade and an outdoor connection with panoramic views. The roof deck is a communal space for events and activities and hosts a bar and water features, with full panoramic views.
Black Desert Resort is a reimagined expansion to the established community of Entrada in Southern Utah. Black Desert’s goal is to be more inclusive than it’s predecessor. The overall project is planned into areas we call ‘Villages’ that are oriented toward potential user groups and recreation or activities. At the heart of the resort is a 300 room Hotel with a full spa and restaurants. The hotel is the main point of entry and check-in for the resort, including experiences such as golf and the water park. The North end of the resort hosts the ‘Golf Village’ where ‘Stay & Play’ housing units are located. The East hosts the ‘Boardwalk Village’ where retail, restaurants and a more urban living experience occurs. The South end hosts the ‘Family Village’ where there are activities for children of all ages such as the waterpark and arcade, along with associated ‘Stay & Play’ housing.
